which happens me as intriguing just since rpcbind repIaces portmap.

Any tips what's going ón with RPC ánd NFS sixth is v3?
I am attempting to make use of NFS over an SSH tunnel to reveal a listing. I clearly identify TCP port 2049, but there is definitely apparently more I need to perform. It appears to have got something to perform with the 'portmapper' support, with which I are not acquainted. Is it probable to work NFS without it using the portmapper service? As I said, I explicitly stipulate what port I want used.
As I demonstrate below, if I have got the client link to the share directly, everything functions fine. However, if I have got the customer attempt to connect to the share via an SSH tunnel, it will not work.
How may I solve this problem?

I handled to get NFS over SSH operating by carrying out the following:
service halt portmap
to free up nearby TCP port 111 (portmapper)- This appearsactuallybad to me, but since I has been on a toy VM, I do it anyway. No doubt it will split something.
ssh consumer@remote -M 111:nfs-server-name:111
rpcinfo -g localhost
and find the ports utilized bymountd
, was 300 in my casessh consumer@remote -M 300:nfs-server-name:300
mount -sixth is v -capital t nfs -o proto=tcp,vers=3,nolock localhost:/path /mountpoint
